- 1 burger bun (buttery or brioche)
- 1 Chef Patrick’s Cornflake burger
- 1 slice cheddar cheese
- 2 slices pickled cucumber
- 1 tbsp crispy fried onions
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Bacon chips
- 2 slices bacon
Caramelized onion
- ½ red onion
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
preparation:
Burger
- Deep-fry in hot oil (180°C) for 3–4 minutes.
- If deep-frying: add the cheese later when assembling the burger.
- If pan-frying: place the cheddar slice on top for the last 30 seconds to melt.
Bacon chips
- Place bacon slices in a cold pan. Cook over medium heat until crispy and golden.
- Drain on paper towel.
Caramelized onion
- Slice the onion into thin strips.
- Sauté in butter over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Add sugar and vinegar, cook 3 more minutes until soft and sticky.
Assembly
- Slice and toast the bun.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half.
- Place the burger with cheese.
- Add caramelized onion, bacon chips, pickled cucumber, and crispy onions.
- Cover with the top bun and serve immediately.
Garnish
Serve with fries or coleslaw. A drizzle of BBQ sauce works perfectly.
